A lesson on Elizabethan Wealth. This is lesson 6 in my series of lessons on Elizabethan England.
Students will start by defining keywords such as nobility, gentry and peasant before examining who was wealthy in Elizabethan times. There is a guided reading task to summarise before examining a set of sources and interpretations. There is a task to examine Elizabethan architecture and how it was used to display wealth this includes Hardwick Hall, Kenilworth Castle and Burghley House.
All of my lessons are designed to last 60 minutes, however they can be adapted to fit the ability of your class.
