Lesson 5 - The Spanish Armada

A lesson (or two) on The Spanish Armada. This is lesson 5 in my series of lessons on Elizabethan England.

Students will start by looking at the reasosn for tension between England and Spain before the Armada. They will then study the plan of the Armada along with the actual events. Students then look at the reasons for failure and catergorise these into three reasons. There is a diamond 9 task for students to make a judgement on the most important reason for failure before deciding whether the defeat of the Armada was an example of the Golden Age.

All of my lessons are designed to last 60 minutes, however they can be adapted to fit the ability of your class.
