Lesson 1 - Medieval Medicine

An introductory lesson to Medieval Medicine, This is lesson 1 in my series of lessons on The Black Death.

Students will examine where medieval ideas originated from with the work of Hippocrates and Galen. There is a guided reading test with a question section to reinforce medieval ideas. This lesson then looks at the theory of the four humours before moving on to a plenary task to look at how medieval doctors used this theory to treat and diagnose patients.

All of my lessons are designed to last at least 60 minutes, however they can be adapted to fit the ability of your class.
