Lesson 2 - Causes of The Black Death

Lesson Context

A lesson on The Causes of The Black Death.  This is lesson 2 in my series of lessons on The Black Death however can also be taught as an individual lesson or included in your own sequence of lessons. All of my lessons are designed to last at least 60 minutes; however, they can be adapted to fit the ability of your class.

Lesson Content

Students examine the notion of a pandemic and how The Black Death spread through Europe and closer England. The events of 1348-50 are studied via a storyboard task that allows students to add their on interpretation images. The lesson then looks in detail at causes and how these can be catergorised into natural and supernatural. There is a final plenary task of linking causes and cures.

Everything you need to teach this lesson is included, worksheets are included ready to print double sided - there are 'glue here' instructions for students. 

Teacher notes are at the bottom of each individual slide for assistance where needed.
