Lesson 2 - Elizabeth's Religious Settlement

A lesson on Elizabeth's religious settlement, This is lesson 2 in my series of lessons on Elizabethan England.

Students will be reminded of the religious tension surround the Tudors before exploring the role of the Puritan and the issues Elizabeth had to try and overcome. The lesson then looks at The Act of Uniformity and The Act of Supremacy and examines how each side would feel. There is a judgement task and an extended writing task on how succesfully Elizabeth dealt woth the religious settlement.

This lesson could easily last two lessosn with the extended writing, however they can be adapted to fit the ability of your class and also parts could be set as homework.
