Lesson Context

A lesson on the spread of Protestantism in Europe. This is lesson four in my series of lessons on The Tudors, however can also be taught as an individual lesson or included in your own sequence of lessons. All of my lessons are designed to last at least 60 minutes; this can be adapted to fit the ability of your class.

Lesson Content

This lesson begins with a find and fix starter promoting previous recall. The lesson then moves on to examining the word Protestantism and the definition and characteristics of the protestant reformation. There is a short video about Martin Luther and a guided reading task supported with questions. The lesson then progresses to completing a map task that illustrates how protestantism spread through Europe. This can be done as class discussion with teacher led slides, or an around the room carousel activity. There is a critical discussion plenary task.

Everything you need to teach this lesson is included; worksheets are included ready to print double sided - there are 'glue here' instructions for students.

Teacher notes are at the bottom of each individual slide for assistance where needed.
